Te Papa, the national museum of New Zealand, has an unusual exhibit honoring

Peter Jackson’s famous Hobbit movies.


Three monsters, named William, Bert and Tom.

Peter Jackson’s characters from “The Hobbit, An Unexpected

Journey” are as much a part of New Zealand native

culture as sheep and volcanoes.

Meet William, Tom and Bert, actual figures from the

movie that greet visitors at Wellington’s famous Te Papa cultural museum.

Admission is free for most exhibits.  Visitors can also see the  elusive
