Lunchtime Tips in Auckland, New Zealand’s Parnell Village

It’s lunchtime in the largest city of the youngest country


Typical platters start at $10.

We took the Hop On, Hop Off bus and stopped on Parnell Road, just after the exchange point at Auckland Museum (on the hill about a half mile by road from the Parnell Village area).

You’ll find a sign that describes how a guy named Les bought and refurbished 19th century homes and made a linear zone of spaces that have turned into cafés and small shops.

We were delighted to find a series of white painted spots on the driveway that led to a fanciful warehouse of handcrafts.  Over two dozen artists share in the cooperative.   Stimulating for the mind (try the 3-dimensional puzzles by Zora) and a laugh fest (Kiwi wee and penguin poo), it’s
